Does anybody know why the fonts keep changing in my longer entries?  When I look at the HTML there are no tags that would be accounting for it, but I can't seem to put together a long entry (where I'm cutting and pasting from various places) without ending up with different fonts coming in more or less at random

I have struggled with this also. Some of it is clearly browser-dependent. When I used Chrome, which I prefer because it is soooo much faster than IE or even Firefox, no formatting shows up. None. When I look at the same page in IE, it is different. There is also something going on depending on whether you are signd-in or not. Signing in changes things. I believe this means that the engine which publishes the "html" does things differently, depending on the situation. Do you compare the "View Source" for each of the pages? This is really the only html that counts; rather than the html in the editor. I think the html in the editor is being translated before it is being published.

One thing you can do to ensure you're not copying any 'invisible' formatting code is to first paste the selection into a plain-text editor (like notepad on Windows), then copy the plain text you just pasted into notepad, and paste that into your blog post.
