on political bias

In response to the 'my kind of guy' heuristic Tom describes in his recent blog let me express sadness.  I do not think that this idea is new to us, perhaps newly thought about, but pervasive in our daily lives.  The imput that creates deciding factors in our decisions is highly suspect.  Voting is a decision that we may want to mark off more than likability for extending a candiate our support- but think about all the more common activities that we use this criteria in guiding our decisions.  More often our vote is represented by the dollar than the ballot box.  We spend our money most easily and often when we feel comfortable with the person attached to the transaction.  We make concessions in quality and cost at times for the personal comfort factor.  This is my thought on how this idea extends in to other areas of our lives.
