After reading Tom's 7-14 post, I was stunned by the study that stated by watching different news sources your actually knowledge will vary.  Most interesting, the more you watch particular sources, the more your actual knowledge degrades.  Specifically, the more you watch FOX, the dumber you get.  Wow, I previoulsy expected different news sources to have a slant to their reporting.  But, I also thought that if you were dilligent enough, you could decipher the facts from the frill.  This has given me more to think about in choosing where we would want to get our information.

Kara, I find the study just as amazing. Recently, I decided that I would no longer watch news sources such as Fox, MSNBC, and CNN just to see if I would receive different news and I did. I began to watch news on PBS and BBC World News and found it surprising in that it seemed these two sources contained more news stories from countries in other parts of the world and less news regarding the United States. For me, PBS and BBC contained less biased views of the world. I felt they reached out to a more broad audience. I have learned more about the world in the last week by watching PBS broadcast news than from any of the U.S. major networks. I'm serious, give it a try and you may be just as amazed as myself.
