The proganda of fear
seems to me that following the news networks here recently for our assignment propaganda in the form fear seems to be everywhere. I started out watching the local news but really didn't see it until I started really paying close attention to the shows on the political networks such as MSNBC, Fox News, and CNN. If you pay close attention its everywhere. For example on MSNBC's countdown show with Keith Olberman, they were giving Sarah Palin a hard time (as Keith likes to do), and the picture they show of here has the oil spill in the background with flames shooting out and a look on Sarah Palin's face as if she is portraying an "I don't care attitude". It is almost comical the way they do that. Wondering if anybody else saw anything similar to this.
But many of the cable "news" shows are considered news and commentary and Countdown is one of them. This kind of bias is what they are paid for. It was harder for me to find on the straight news. My own bias got in the way too.
I to have caugth this on the news channels. It is crazy some of the things that are said. The local news channels seem to all report on different news around the State. Hmm...Maybe I will pay attention to see if there is a particular part of the State they target.
Because of the biases each network has, I try to watch some of each. Is very interesting how the same story can be spun differently. The problem is I get comfortable believing that the truth is somewhere in the middle. But that may not always be the case.
