Establish and maintain your presence on the internet!

My name is Cindy Wold, and Wold Wide Web is a place I created, to encourage, advise and service the use of the internet. Wold Wide Web is committed to the work of facilitating an internet presence for individuals, organizations or businesses who have a message they want to communicate to an audience.

In our technically evolving world, your service, organization, resource, charity, information or business has an opportunity for far greater visibility than could ever before be possible. Being "plugged in" to the internet enables your site to be found and viewed by anyone in the world. It is important that your website present your message in a way that effectively communicates what you want to say, and does it so that your chosen audience is most likely to receive it!

There are 3 phases to establishing your presence on the internet:

  1. Register a domain name
    • Find an appropriate, available name
    • Find a good, reputable registrar
  2. Secure a web host and transfer your domain name
    • Find a reliable web hosting service
    • Purchase a package that meets your space and technology needs
  3. Design, Create, Publish and Maintain your site
    • Determine important content, graphics, functions and links
    • Design your site
    • Create pages using HTML programming or your choice of editing software
    • Publish your site (FTP or other method)
    • Submit your site to Search Engines (optional)
    • Keep your site up-to-date (maintenance)

You can do any or all of these steps yourself (if you have the time, knowledge and inclination), or get help for some or all of them. See my services page for some of the help I can provide, or use my Links page to get some tips on how to do it yourself.
