Analyzing Gastil’s Case for the Right of the Majority to Regulate Pornography

1. Discus and try to agree on exactly how Gastil argues for the claim that the majority of citizens have a right to restrict pornography. Try to set out his argument in a step-by-step fashion.
2. Exactly what sorts of restrictive measures do you think someone like Gastil would advocate? If you agreed with him that the majority had a right to restrict pornography, what sort of restrictions do you think would be appropriate. (Be as specific as you can, both about what to restrict and about how to restrict it.)
3. Discuss and try to agree about whether or not his argument succeeds in proving his point. Does the majority have a right to restrict pornography? How far does this right extend?
